This amazing find was acquired from a nursery in Entre Rios, Argentina, over 10 years ago. It was growing amongst typical Guabiju (Myrcianthes pungens).

The mother tree began fruiting in the early 2020's, in a field in Junin. It fruited later than the other Guabijus and the fruit appeared smaller. Orignally, it was believed to be a smaller Guabiju, but after paying closer attention, several distinguishing traits were observed. The tree was more open with shrubby growth unlike Guabiju's tree-like growth habit. The leaves' shape and coloration were also different. The fruits ripen through bright yellow and orange hues not seen in Guabiju. The seeds have a distinct green color. The fruiting panicles are greatly elongated, and the fruit skin lacks the fine hairs like Guabiju, making them smoother and shinier. Most notably, there is an intensely sweet tropical flavor stronger than Guabiju.

These seedlings being offered are the result of continued selection and propagation. Do not miss your chance to get you hands on this one of a kind find!
